We are Charlotte MEDI.

A group of makers in the Charlotte community helping out local hospitals by making face shields during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In support of the #MillionMaskChallenge, a group of makers in Charlotte got together with students and teachers at Charlotte Latin School and UNCC to form Charlotte MEDI [Medical Emergency Device Innovation] with the hope of producing face shields for health care workers in the Charlotte community. We started with a design made by Prusa, and after a few days of minor modifications, were able to prototype the first few dozen and get them in the hands (or rather, on the faces) of nurses and doctors at local hospitals.

With 10 days forming, we set our goal to be able to deliver over 15,000 shields per week using our community network of 3D printers and local manufacturing companies. And we are only getting started. No telling what next week will bring.

This is a grassroots effort and we need your help!
